In full view of the now historic Edmund Pettus Bridge, Elders’ House will house books, films, African art, oral histories, personal papers, and family collections, published and unpublished material.
Elders’ House will serve as a repository and archive for the history and the ongoing struggle
for an education of liberation for people of African ancestry.
Elders’ House is dedicated to preserving the stories, accomplishments, and achievements of
Africans and African American people, so that the richness of our history and the
fullness of our legacy can be passed on to our children.
